Dorothy Dahlk

VERONA-Dorothy Mae (Lee) Dahlk, age 90, passed away on Sunday March 8, 2009 at the Nazareth Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton. She was born on May 30, 1918, in the town of Springdale, the daughter of Arnold and Birdella (Huseth) Lee. Dorothy was united in marriage to Eldon Dahlk on February 6, 1937 and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage. She was involved in Sunday school spending several years as a teacher. She also served as Superintendent of Sunday school and vacation bible school. Dorothy loved to garden and enjoyed her beautiful flowers. Quilting and sewing were her favorite pastimes. In later years, she enjoyed reading and working cross word puzzles. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Henschen, daughter-in-law, Fanny Martin-Dahlk; five grandsons, Eric, Stephen, Jason, Drew and Hans; six great-grandchildren, Erica, Kirsten, Leif, Meysha, Elizabeth and David; a sister, Betty (Robert) Zimmerman; four sisters-in-laws, Joyce Lee, Dorothy Volker, Anna Mae Dahlk, Nieva Dahlk and a brother-in-law, Robert (Joan) Dahlk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Dahlk, a son, David Dahlk, her parents and two brothers, Norton and LaVerne Lee. Funeral services will be held at WEST MIDDLETON LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3763 Pioneer Road, Verona at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2009 with the Reverend David Brandfass presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Middleton Lutheran Church. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Nazareth House staff for their excellent and compassionate care given to Dorothy.
