Madison-Edward R. Moore, age 79, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the HospiceCare, Inc., in Fitchburg. He was born on January 13, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA., the son of Edward B. and Ann (Rennier) Moore. Edward was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed a long career in the radio and television industry having served as public affairs director and news anchor at various midwestern stations. Ed was well known as the "voice," at WEAQ in Eau Claire WI. Prior to his radio and television career he had been involved in the theatre, in California, for about ten years. He had a variety of interests including world events and politics, was an avid reader, an "Old Hollywood Movie Buff", enjoyed sports, particularly the Badgers and Packers, and had a great sense of humor and quick wit. What he treasured the most was the time he spent with his family. Edward is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Kurt Smith) Draves and Ann Bunge, both of Madison and a son, David (Nellie) Moore of Crystal, MN., 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marjorie Moore and a son, Edward "Ted" Moore. Private services will be held.
