Croft, Margaret F. FITCHBURG-Margaret F. Croft, age 96, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at home. She was born on Nov. 20, 1912, in Madison, the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Westover) Maloney. Margaret attended Madison Central High School until Madison West High School opened. She was among one of the first graduating classes, graduating in 1931. Margaret married Walter Croft on April 20, 1937, in Madison. They resided in Fox Lake and Waupun areas in the 50s before returning to Madison. Margaret was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Oregon. She enjoyed making ceramics and doing needlework. Anyone who knew her, probably has one of these gifts in their possession. Margaret is survived by her son, David Croft of Fitchburg; grandson, Kyle Croft of Oregon; granddaughter, Jodi (Rick) Ross of Oregon; great-grandson, Cameron Croft of Markesan; two sisters-in-law; and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; son, Robert in 1962; four brothers; and a sister. Please join us for a celebration of Margarets life on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, from noon until 3 p.m., at the FITCHBURG COMMUNITY CENTER, 5520 Lacy Road, Fitchburg. Inurnment services will be held at a later date, at St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House or a charity of the donors choice, because Margaret always helped others in need. Margaret touched a lot of peoples lives over the years. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
