Corinne Osborne

Photo Osborne, Corinne MADISON-Corinne Osborne, age 99, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the Karmenta Center. She was born on Sept. 19, 1909, in Houghton, Mich., the daughter of Clarence and Rosanna (Verrier) Osborne. Corinne retired in September 1973, after 29 years of service with the Wisconsin Division of Corrections as a probation and parole agent, a supervisor in their central office in Madison, a supervisor of social services, and assistant superintendent at the Wisconsin School for Girls in Oregon. Corinne had a sister who died as a child. She is survived by several cousins and many friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at Lake View Cemetery, Calumet, Mich. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolate of the Handicapped, Diocese of Madison. Thank you to the staffs at Karmenta Center, HospiceCare, and Comfort Keepers, especially her dear friend, Lillie, and her wonderful nurse practitioner, Gail Gonstead. We also wish to recognize Father Kent Schmitt, all of her friends at St. Dennis Catholic Parish, especially her dearest friends and helpers, including Louise Foster, Sharon Palin, and all the others who loved and helped her who are no longer with us. Corinne had an amazing life. She was a very devout Catholic in every sense of the word, she consistently contributed to numerous charities, she had a tremendous work ethic which resulted in her achieving a very high position for the women of her generation, and she loved life. Our only regret was that she suffered so much and so long in her last few years, yet even in that, she inspired many people with her strength, courage and wry sense of humor.
