Janet Morris

Morris, Janet MADISON - On Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, Janet Morris went to be with the Lord after a long health battle. She was born on Sept. 10, 1938, in Madison, the daughter of Gordon and Mary Jenkins. Janet surrendered to Gods call with family and friends by her side. She will be waiting inside the Gates for her three sisters, Ginny Boss (Bill), Barb (Denny) Porter and Shirley (Russell) Theel; her daughter, Vicki Hellenbrand; sons, Dan (Yolanda) Burkeland, and Terry Burkeland; her grandchildren, Erik and Kati Hellenbrand, Chelsea Niece, Cortney (Paul) Keuhn, Candice and Brittany Burkeland, Travis and Meghan McCowan, and Alex and Becki Burkeland; her great-grandchildren, Skylar and Damian; her best friend, Helen Vieth, who was always there for her, thank you Helen; and many friends she held dear. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Walter Morris, in January of 2005. Janet retired from Oscar Mayer, and volunteered for many local organizations. She enjoyed books, shopping, traveling, crosswords, and her meetings and lunches with her friends were very important to her. We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wilson and Dr. Couser at Dean, for their caring hearts, and the wonderful nursing staff and residents of the MICU of St. Marys Hospital. Bill, you are a gifted nurse who touched her deeply, thank you. She ascended with the prayers of all who knew and loved her. She will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her quiet strength will be a guide everyday, and she will be deeply missed. We are blessed with the peace that comes from knowing we will see her again. Please join us on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at 4 p.m., for food and fellowship, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m., at GATEWAY COMMUNITY CHURCH, 3510 High Rd., Middleton.
