Obituary

Wiersma, Clara D. ESTERO, FLA./MADISON-Clara D. Wiersma, age 84, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009. She was born in Kenosha, on March 9, 1924, the daughter of Sam and Alida Westra. She was united in marriage to Robert Wiersma on March 9,1945,who shared 63 years of her enduring love and devotion. She spent most of her career as an accountant with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. As a faithful servant of her heavenly Father, she was an active member of the Crossroads Church of Madison, a ministry of the Christian Reformed Church. Clara is survived by her loving and caring husband, Robert; her three sons, Glenn, Vernon (Carol) and Dale (Ila); her daughter, Karen (Larry) Hoeksema; sister, Dinah Jesperson; and brothers, Willard and Richard Westra. She also has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, to whom she was a guiding light in their development. Preceding her in death were brothers, Henry and John Westra; and sister, Josephine Sikorski. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009,at 11 a.m., at CROSSROADS CHURCH, 3815 South Dutch Mill Road, Madison, WI 53718. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorials may be made in her honor to Crossroads Church,in memory of Clara Wiersma. We who knew her are saddened by our loss, but we are comforted knowing that she will greet us in heaven.
