She grew up with her three brothers, Curtis, Dallas and Bob, who had her try out the more dangerous things first, like using barrel staves for skis and riding the most troublesome ponies. After she graduated from Spooner High School, she worked for a local dress shop and was later employed by J. C. Penney. She married George Edward Stegeman, September 6, 1936 in Eau Claire. She and George moved to Middleton in 1942. In 1949, George and Eleanor built their own home on Parmenter Street; where they lived for 43 years before moving to an apartment in Madison. George and Eleanor had three children, Gary (Judy) Stegeman of Austin, Texas, Patricia (Dave) Frank of Green Bay and Linda (Randy) Marine of Madison. They have six grandchildren, Rick (Cindy) Stegeman, Rita (Jeff) Henschel, Julie (Nick) Von Egmond, Brian McKnight, Laurie (Chris) Staack, Matthew (Lisa) Marine and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dillon, Nuavana, Braden and Ruby. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, and her three brothers, Curtis Perry of White Bear Lake, MN., Dallas Perry of Eau Claire; Robert Perry of Spooner and her son-in-law, Randy Marine of Menomonie. Funeral services will be held at WEST MIDDLETON LUTHERAN CHURCH. 3763 Pioneer Road, Verona at Noon on Friday, February 20, 2009 with the Reverend David Brandfass presiding. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Family and friends may call on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
