NELSON GLADYS G. MADISON-Gladys G. Nelson, age 89, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009 at Oakwood Village West in Madison. She was born on April 29, 1919, in Woodland, the daughter of Adalbert and Elsa (Krueger) Pieper. Gladys married Edward Nelson on July 30, 1939 in Woodland. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1985. Along with her husband, Edward, they owned and operated the Al-Gen Dinner Club in Rhinelander for many years. Gladys enjoyed listening to music and treasured most the time spent with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Robert) Gentile; five grandchildren, Laurie Zubke, Lisa (Thomas) Berg, Dr. Kevin (Heather) Gentile, Dr. Jeffrey (Laura) Gentile and Kate (Steven) Schmitt; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Edward, Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Beverly Tucker . Funeral services will be held at ST. ANDREW EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6815 Schneider Road, Middleton at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2009 with the Reverend Randy Hunter presiding. Committal services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2009 in Forest Home Cemetery, Rhinelander. Bob and Jan, It has been years since we last visited, but I often read the Rhinelander Daily News online. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure your mother was so proud of you and your family. It sounds like the kids are all doing great. Take care.
