Ernest Tresch

Ernie was our corporate pilot at Marietta Concrete as well as a good friend and neighbor. Once he called the Wood County Airport for clearance to land and when asked his postion, he replied that they were 15,000 feet over Tunnel (where Ernie grew up). When they landed, the airport controller said, 'Where in the hell is Tunnel?' We have many happy memories of our lives in Devola. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Fondly, Leonard Christy

My condolences to family and close friends. Amazingly I took my first airplane flight with Ernie in the 1950's as a child from Nashville, TN to Marietta, Ohio (Wood County WV airport) when he was the company pilot for Marietta Concrete. Hadn't heard his whereabouts for years. Sure my mother Dorothy Christy will be most interested, and I have forwarded the obit info on to her.

Our parents were friends of Ernest's parents many years ago. We graduated from the same high school where Ernest graduated. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ernest's Family at the time of his death.

My condolences to family. I worked at Marietta Concrete many years with Ernie. Ernie helped us sell a Marietta Farm silo in 1957 to Eisenhower at his Gettysburg farm. I have some pictures of Ernie in my Marietta Concrete collection if any family members are interested.
