Michael Stanek

Stanek, Michael W. SUN PRAIRIE-Michael W. Stanek, age 48, of Sun Prairie, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. He was born on Jan. 14, 1961, in Edgerton, the son of Peter and Delores Stanek. Mike married Cindy Thiede in 1996. He currently worked for Oakhouse Bakery and Evergreen Landscaping. Mike had worked as a mechanic for K-Mart and Penske. He enjoyed working on cars and would always help his friends out. Mike also enjoyed car shows, driving classic cars, antiques, flea markets and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Sarah Strohmenger, Josh Strohmenger, and Roxanne Stanek of Sun Prairie; sister-in-law, Mary Gilmore; parents-in-law, Del and Gloria Thiede; four sisters; a brother, nieces, nephews and many friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Chris Gilmore. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made in Mikes name for a fund to be established. A special thank you to the kind hearted people who helped Mike and his family that day.
