John May

MADISON-John Pierre May, age 68, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009. He was born Aug. 2, 1940, in Wiltz, Luxembourg, the son of Michael and Catherine (Balthasar) May. John grew up in Illinois and lived in Nevada before he married Nancy Woodward in November 1973 in Green Bay. John lived his life passionately. He loved fishing and automobiles, His friends and family brought him his greatest joy. Everyone that spent time with him enjoyed him. He was an affectionate, loving husband, inspiring father and extremely proud grandfather and a dear friend to many. John is survived by his wife, Nancy May of Madison; sons, Brian May and Victor May, both of Nevada; sons, Jesse (Julie) May of Madison, Marcelle "Marc" (Jennifer) May of Cross Plains and David May of Montgomery, Alabama; grandchildren, Mallory and Madelyn May of Cross Plains, and Adison May of Madison; sisters, Jean Smart of Illinois and Bridget (Bill) LeMay of Michigan; and sister-in-law, Joyce May of Illinois He was preceded in death by his parents; and a dear brother, Nick. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to all medical professionals at Meriter and HospiceCare who helped us enjoy many extra years with John.
