Maxine Floistad

MADISON - Maxine Floistad, age 73, of Madison, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2009, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Dec. 16, 1935 in Amherst, the daughter of Sherman and Mayme (Bobbe) Floistad. Maxine graduated from Amherst High School and furthered her education at U.W. Stevens Point. She worked at Sears in Madison for many years and at MG&E until her retirement in 2001. Maxine was an avid gardener and volunteered at Olbrich Botanical Gardens. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Melanie (David) Walker of Madison; very dear friend, Joann Minter; her dog, Chloe; and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, with the Rev. Laura Sutherland presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
