Alfred Femrite

Femrite, Alfred "Richard" STOUGHTON - Alfred "Richard" Femrite, age 83, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Skaalen Home. He was born on March 24, 1925, in Stoughton, the son of Martin and Hannah (Aslakson) Femrite. Alfred was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army in 1947. He married Bonnie North Lein on Feb.10, 1973, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Stoughton. After working for Armour and Company in Stoughton, Alfred worked for Uniroyal in Stoughton, for more than 35 years, retiring in 1994. Alfred had a very unique laugh and a wonderful sense of humor, and was affectionately known to his friends as "Shiner". He was a loving caregiver to his mother and his sister Irene, and later to his wife Bonnie. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; step-sons, Dennis (Sheila) Lein of Florence, S.C., and Duane (Patty) Lein of Portage; step-daughters, Sandra (Greg) Vike of St. Clairesvile, Ohio, and Sonja Vike of Stoughton; a sister, Irene Boeing of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine step grandchildren; and 10 step great-grandchildren. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert and Roger Femrite. A memorial service will be held at SKAALEN HOME, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m, on Saturday, Dec.13, 2008. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, Cottage Grove. The family acknowledges and thanks Janesville Hospice personnel and Skaalen Home staff for making Richards final days comfortable.
