Betty Cooper

Cooper, Betty V. MADISON-Betty V. Cooper, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on July 13, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of Edward and Hazel Heggen. She married Charles E. Cooper on June 19, 1948, in Madison. They spent 11 years in Fond du Lac, then returned to Madison in 1961. They built a home in Madison on Hempstead Place, where they resided for more than 30 years. Betty worked for many years at JC Penney at West Towne. They moved to Oakwood in 2002, living in The Oaks Apartments. She later resided at Tabor Oaks Assisted Living at Oakwood Village. Betty is survived by her daughter, Nancy Warner of Oregon; son, David Cooper of Madison; three grandchildren, Traci (Chris) Adams of Sun Prairie, Brent (Wendy Parsons) Warner of Oregon, and Chris Warner of Oregon; and three great-grandchildren, Derrick Parsons, Wyatt Parsons and Madalyn "Maddie" Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2005; sister, Helen Thiede; and brother-in-law, Chet Thiede. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at OAKWOOD VILLAGE, 6201 Mineral Point Road., Madison, on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. Private inurnment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Tabor Oaks for their care and compassion given to Betty.
