Sandridge, Mary (Muehlemann)OREGON/MADISON - Mary (Muehlemann) Sandridge, passed away quietly on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at The Golden Living Center, Fort Atkinson. Mary was born on Apr. 24, 1917, in Mt. Horeb, Wis., where her parents settled upon their arrival to the United States from Switzerland. She fell in love and married Ervin Sandridge on Sept. 11, 1935 in Thayer, Mo. Mary and Ervin farmed for many years in the Brooklyn area. After retiring from farming in 1963, Mary worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and then Firstar Bank, Madison, when she retired in 1985. Mary was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Oregon and enjoyed working at the annual smorgasbord. Mary was an avid gardener and loved to cook, bake, crochet, sew and most of all enjoyed dancing with Ervin. She loved family gatherings and a good party. Mary is survived by one brother, Herbert (Betty) Muehlemann; four sons, Fred (Bernadette), Charles (Marla), Art (Barb), and Tim (Kathy DeBlare), all of Madison; and one daughter, Nancy (Richard) Gouker of Edgerton. She had 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law, Amos Sandridge, of Caputa, S.D. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, in 1999 after 63 years of marriage; one grandson, Douglas, in 1987; three sisters and six brothers. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008. Reverend Phil Haslanger presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
