Tristan was a true friend. I will sorely miss his smile, his laugh, and his unwavering friendship. He was as close to a brother to me as one can be ... I am proud and honored to have been considered his friend.
He battled cancer and defied the odds as only someone with his determination could do.
Although his time here on Earth has come to an end, he is in a much better place. God must have needed a hard working, selfless, beautiful soul for some important work in heaven.
You will live forever in my heart and prayers, Tristan. Rest in peace. I love you, brother.

It all started in high school. Tristan and I were in homeroom together at LaFollette High School for four years. Following graduation, Bill Sergenian put together a men's slow pitch softball team (Tristan, Jeff, Brad, Mark, etc.). I looked forward to game night, seeing the guys play, and then we go out afterwards. Then in the early 90's, Bill put together a co-ed softball team and we played for several years. We had lots of fun!
Tristan was mostly a quiet man... it was not so much that he avoided conversation... but rather the fact that he avoided trivial conversation. When he had something to say, he said it. Otherwise he was more than willing to sit back and listen... Tristan had great patience as a listener, he always had time for me and would listen intently for as long as I would talk (and those that know me best can attest to the fact that this was no small feat). I will forever cherish the intimate 'chats' we shared.
Tristan use to have a lot of fun with the odd spelling of my name - no e. So one year he carved my name out of wood and gave it to me for my birthday. I still have it to this day.
Tristan was a good man with a big heart, a generous guy, and a caring person too.
God Bless. I will miss you my friend.

Dear family of Tristan,
I played ball with Tristan for a few years when I lived in Madison. He was a very competitve ballplayer. He was also the kind of guy always saying hello. As he didn't know me real well.
I like you am saddened at his passing.
Please take comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior Christ now.
