Phyllis Thorne

Thorne, Phyllis C. OREGON Phyllis C. Thorne, age 81 of Oregon, passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Feb. 2, 1927, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Robert and Viola Cushman. Phyllis graduated from the University of Massachusetts, where she met her future husband, Harry Thorne. They were married on Aug. 12, 1950, in Glen Ellyn, Ill. The pattern of her life was carefully stitched with love and care for her family and dedication to her friends. Phyllis will be remembered for her many years of service to the Oregon High School Band Boosters and for her talented work as a seamstress. Phyllis is survived by her four children, Glenn (Dorothy) Thorne of Traer, Iowa, Gail (James) Rajski of Madison, Craig (Debra) Thorne of Germantown and Holly (Jonathan) Cobb of West Bend; and eight grandchildren, Megan Thorne, Ryan Thorne, Gwen Rajski, Cliff Rajski, Tim Thorne, Paul Thorne, April Cobb, and Steven Cobb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thorne; her parents; an infant daughter, Linda; and a sister. Private family graveside services will be held.
