Obituary
STOUGHTON - Steven Charles "Chip" Wood, age 49, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 5, 1959, in Madison, the youngest of eight children born to James and Marilyn (Eckstein) Wood. Chip graduated from Stoughton High School in 1978. He was very active in sports all of his life. Chip enjoyed playing baseball, softball, basketball, darts in the Stoughton area, and card games with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Chip liked to watch the Packers, Badgers and Brewers games. He worked in construction, specializing in drywall. Chip is survived by his mother, Marilyn (Eckstein) Wood of Shawano; his siblings, Craig (Joni) Wood of Stoughton, LeaAnne (Richard) Dvorak of Pelican Lake, Linda (Larry) Brager of Aspen, Colo., Carolyn (Don) Kvalheim of Mesquite, Texas, and Cheryl (Herb) Lehman of Shawano; nieces and nephews, Jenny (Robert) Lowe, Stephanie (Andy) Schwarz, Marci (fiancee, Andrew Johnson) Dvorak, Rick Dvorak, Matthew (Erica) Brager, Sarah (Jay) Morin, Kevin Kvalheim and his children, Jordan, Bailey and Chase, Kyle Kvalheim; Kristen (Rob) Netrefa and their son, Jimmy; Karla Lehman and her children, Austin and Brianna; Bill Lehman, Jeffrey Wood, Lyndsey (Mike) McLaughlin and their son, Aaron and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James; two brothers, James Jr. and Jeffrey Wood; his grandparents and several aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANNS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Anns Catholic Church. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy. 51, North at Jackson St., Stoughton, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 with a scripture service and time of remembrance beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. The family would like to thank Drs. Sanyal, Klein, Prendergast, Robinson and the Urgent Care staff at Stoughton Hospital, St. Marys Hospital, staff at HospiceCare, and all who loved and cared for Chip.
