Alice Carr

Carr, Alice L. POYNETTE-Alice L. Carr, age 92, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Avalon Assisted Living, in Madison. She was born on Jan. 14, 1916, in Racine, the daughter of Nels and Hannah (Peterson) Anderson. Alice married Ralph Carr on June 14, 1941, in New York. She worked at Northwestern Lumber & Wrecking Co., in Milwaukee, from age 19 until she retired at age 65. After Ralph and Alice retired, they moved from Dousman to Poynette. She and Ralph were active members of their church, where Alice served as pianist/organist. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Alice is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Bruce) Holland of Fitchburg/Oregon; grandchildren, Heather Pauley of Lodi, Calif., Hans (Dianna) Holland of Garden Valley, Calif., Tracy Holland of Fayetteville, Ga., and Hayes Holland of Lawrence, Kan.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; three sisters; and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, with the Rev. David Brynelson, chaplain at HospiceCare, presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Ottawa Cemetery, Dousman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc
