"Ken" TOWN OF BURKE - Known as a great guy; a man of few words; who was blessed with many friends and a loving family, Ken Friede passed through the gates of heaven on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, after a brief illness. He is in the company of his parents, Reinhold and Frieda Friede; his wife, Dorothy; sons, Jim and Paul; brothers, Bob and Richard Friede; and his beloved German shepherds. Ken retired from Madison Crushing and was a member of 139 Operating Engineers for 45 years. He was an avid fisherman and card player. Ken is survived by his children, Deborah (Terry) Wilcox, Eugene (Philana) Friede, Connie Friede, Kenneth "Skip" Friede Jr., Mark Friede (Sheri), Kelly Friede (Ed) , and Kimberly (Jamie) Tjugum; sister, Beverly Ninedorf; brother, Jerry Friede; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 2 p.m, on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
