Dorothy Olson

Olson, Dorothy Jane MADISON Dorothy Jane Olson, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Karmenta Health Care Center. She was born on Nov. 20, 1924, in Irene, S.D., the daughter of Olaf and Hulda Hevle. Dorothy graduated from Madison East High School. She married George S. Olson on Dec. 27, 1945. Dorothy was a member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7591 Auxiliary. She lived for her children and grandchildren, and was a "mother" to many others. Dorothy is survived by a son, Gordon Olson of Madison; a daughter, Kathryn (Kyle) Klawitter of Deerfield; grandchildren, Heather (Joseph) Hornick of Davidson, N.C., Darren Olson of Verona, and Whisper Klawitter of Waterloo; step grandchildren, Shanna and Heather; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Anthony and Phoebe Hornick; a brother, Orlein Hevle of Yankton, S.D.; and sister, Gladys Chapman of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; a son, Keith; and a granddaughter, Jill. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008. Visitation will be at Roselawn Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A special thanks to Karmenta for their care of Dorothy.
