Obituary

Conrard, Barbara Ann MADISON/RACINE-Barbara Ann Conrard passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Oak Park Nursing Facility, under the loving care of their staff and the Sapphire Team from Hospice. She was born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Mount Horeb, to Guerdon and Helen (Smith) Billings. Barb was married for 44 years to Charles Conrard, from Racine. She worked as a records clerk for the Racine Police Department. After the passing of her "sweet husband" in 1997, Barb returned to her extended family in Madison and moved to Oak Park Place in 2005. In addition to her great love of others, Barb also loved shopping, sweets, jewelry, cats, playing cards, socializing and spending time with her young nieces and nephews. She was gifted with many creative abilities, but what she loved most was painting. Barb is survived by her siblings, Virginia Falkenstein, Lee Billings, and Mary Billings; and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and brothers, Doug Billings and Keith Billings. Memorials may be made to the Conrard/Billings Family, c/o Oak Park Place, 702 Jupiter Drive, Madison, WI 53718, where a private memorial service will be held. Her family and friends were all blessed through knowing Barb, who was able to contribute to her obituary with words that we should all live by: "I would like to be remembered for being nice and having more love than hate, having more love in your life than hate." "Ive always tried to be nice to people."
