Gibson, Elizabeth A. "Betty" COTTAGE GROVE-Elizabeth A. "Betty" Gibson, age 76, died on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at home. She was born on April 27, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Harry W. and Julia (Lucht) Warren. Betty graduated from Madison East High School in 1950, and was married to Fay J. "Hoot" Gibson on July 3, 1951. Betty is survived by her daughters, Deborah (David) Ersland of Cottage Grove, and Diane (DuWayne) Baum of Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren, Sarah Baum and Jeff (Samantha) Baum of Tallahassee, Fla., Kate (Randy) Whitson of Cottage Grove, Amy Baum of Iowa City, Iowa, and Mike (Karen) Ersland of Madison; three great-grandchildren, Connor Baum, Jillian Dellosso, and Maxwell Whitson; her siblings, Robert Warren of Madison, Ruth Morrison of Simi Valley, Calif., Dean Warren of Windsor, Dorothy Stormer of Fitchburg, Beverly Manner of Oregon, Lois Liddicoat of Cambridge, and Phyllis Day of Waunakee; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Stearns of Middleton and Connie Gibson of Madison; her dear friend, Elaine Braley; and her constant companions, Emma and Mindy. Betty will be greatly missed by her family, especially her sisters whom she loved to shop and lunch with! Betty was preceded in death by her husband; and parents. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, with Chaplain Bob Groth presiding.. Family will be greeting friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. or Dane County Humane Society. To my children: Be not sorrowful that I am gone and my earthly life is done. Be not sad I passed away, for in you, my children, I live each day. There is a little of me in all of you, in each new one I live anew. So you see, Ill never really be gone as long as there are children to carry on. Ive had my share of love, sorrow and strife, I have lived a full and fruitful life. So do not mourn, and do not weep, for I have earned this peaceful sleep. Mom
