Obituary
Horne, David J. STOUGHTON David John Horne, age 25, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at U.W. Hospital, Madison, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born on Oct. 27, 1982, in Madison, the son of David T. Horne and Jodelle (Showers) Baker. David graduated from Oregon High School in 2001 and completed a four year apprenticeship in plastic injection molding at Madison Area Technical College in 2003. He was very fortunate in having Mr. Bill Urban as his career advisor and mentor while attending Oregon High School. Mr. Urban was very instrumental in guiding David toward his future career and got him started on his youth apprenticeship while in high school. This gave David a head start. He was employed at Engineering Industries Incorporated, Verona, for seven years. David was presently employed at Wolf Appliance, Madison, as a press operator in stainless steel fabrication for the past two years. He was affectionately known by the nickname, "Tacklebox", by his many friends. Davids passion was anything and everything mechanical or that had an engine. He loved to work on cars and motorcycles, David also enjoyed going to car and truck shows with his Uncle Todd, and his friends, Jack and John Olson. This past winter he found new sports, snowboarding and skiing. These two sports David was looking forward to this upcoming winter. David is survived by his mother, Jodelle (Mike McBee) of Stoughton; his father, David (Lori) Horne of Rio; grandparents, Diane (Greg) Curwen of Montello and Karen (Don) Latch of Trempeleau; great-grandmothers, Leillian Cummings of Madison, and Mary Horne of North Carolina; his wonderful soul mate, Trista Barker of Stoughton; half-sister, Deidre Horne; half-brother, Cutter Horne; aunts and uncles, Todd (Shari) Showers of Delafield, Scott Showers of Madison, Laurie (Larry) Geary of Madison, Cheryl (Tom) Bumgarner of Mazomanie, Michael (Cindy) Cummings of Lodi, Dale (Janelle) Horne of Marshall, Renee (Mike) Rogers of Deerfield, and Dean (Shelli) Horne of Poynette; his pets that he shared with Trista, two cats, Keiko and Token; a pug dog, Nala, his "daughter"; and his many close and dear friends, Jeremy Lawton, Brandon Nicholson, Chad Christianson, Jake Dahmen, Bryan Johnson, Al Uphoff, Jack and John Olson, Andrea Moen, Ruth and Tom Lawton, Jeremy Bausch and Justin Harbort. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Delmar Showers and Archie Horne; and his great-grandfather, John Cummings. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. I believe in Angels... I believe in Angels That theyre always Hovering near, Whispering encouragement Whenever clouds appear, Protecting us from danger And showing us the way, Performing little miracles Within our lives each day... This Angel that sits before you Is in remembrance of those we have lost, And to remind us that they are always with us Today and everyday. Please take your angel home to watch over you.

I was so sad to hear about David's passing. It has been years since I've seen David but he always would drive me and my friends around in his truck in high school, taking us to McDonalds during lunch : ). I'm sad that we lost touch, he was a great guy!

We just saw David at our truck show in Wisconsin Dells in September. He was so excited to be there with a truck. Our club will remember his smile and enthusiasm and his love for our hobby. We certainly have wonderful memories of him growing up as we saw him with his Uncle Todd.

I was sad to hear of David's passing and am very sorry for your loss. David and I went to Oregon together. Even though it has been a number of years since we 'hung out', I still remember David as an outgoing and unique person. He always had a good story or wise crack that made me laugh. It makes me sad that we did not stay in contact.
Take Care,
Megan
