Robert Storie

STORIE ROBERT R. OREGON-Robert Richard Storie, age 85, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008. He was born on November 28, 1922, in Lodi, the son of Robert H. and Bernice E. Storie. Bob was a veteran of World War II, having served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corps. In 1947, he married Emma C. Smith and together they had a daughter, Roberta. He later married, Betty M. Mellor on September 15, 1956. Bob was a member St. Johns Lutheran Church, a life member of the Oregon Brooklyn VFW Post # 10272, and the Oregon Masonic Lodge # 151. He was also a member of the Oregon Senior Center and the Silver Threads Group. Bob is survived by a daughter, Roberta; three step-daughters, Nancy, Suzan and Margaret; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren (and one more on the way) and two foster great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Betty M. Storie. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Burial will be in Prairie Mound Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc., Oregon Senior Center or to St. Johns Lutheran Church.
