Doris Salvisberg

Salvisberg, Doris I. BROOKLYN Doris Irene Salvisberg, age 73 of Brooklyn, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Oct. 29, 1934, on the family farm in Cambridge, the daughter of Harold and Tilla (Staff) Nottestad. Doris graduated from Cambridge High School. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at Jones Dairy Farm, in Fort Atkinson and at Rayovac in Madison. Doris married Robert Salvisberg on Aug. 11, 1956, at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church. After she raised their five daughters, Doris worked at Oregon schools and Oak Hill Correctional in Oregon, until retirement. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Brooklyn; five daughters, Karen (Glenn) Meyer of Greenfield, Joan Sigler of West Bend, Teresa (Gary) Hawkinson of Oregon, Julie Salvisberg (Scott) of Madison, and Kristi Salvisberg of Oregon; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Reppen of Stoughton. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Howard. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, with the Rev. Paul Markquart presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Always in our hearts and forever missed.
