LeRoy Zander

Zander, LeRoy B. CROSS PLAINS LeRoy B. Zander, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was born on Oct. 7, 1940, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Laufenberg) Zander. LeRoy was united in marriage to Pamela Holmes on Oct. 28, 1961, in St. Francis Catholic Church. He was a graduate of St. Francis Grade School and a longtime member of St. Francis Catholic Church. LeRoy was a master electrician for Local Union 159 and together with his wife Pamela they owned and operated A to Z Electric, Inc., until retirement in 2006. He was a avid golfer, who enjoyed golfing with his friends every Monday and also his Wednesday night golf league, but treasured most the time spent with his family. LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pamela; three children, Katharine Zander of Mount Horeb, Angela (John) Romaker of Blanchardville, and Douglas LeRoy (Patricia) Zander of Madison; 12 grandchildren, Mathew, Jessica, Kyle, Tyler, Curtis, Nicole, Courtney, Caitlin, Colton, Joshua, Ryan, and Jesse; a great-grandchild, Tanner; two brothers, Ronald (Carol) Zander and Albert (Carrie Ann) Zander; two sisters, Charlotte Bollig and Rita (Dan) Heinz; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vincent and Harland Zander; and a sister, MaryAnn Menzel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, with Father Thomas Kelley presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
