Eleanor Hacker

Hacker, Eleanor T. MADISON Eleanor T. Hacker, age 91, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at the Karmenta Center in Madison. She was born on March 4, 1917, in the town of Berry, the daughter of Robert and Anna (Thompson) Brockman. She was united in marriage to Herman Hacker on June 12, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1975. Together with her husband, they farmed in the area until moving to Middleton in 1957. Eleanor established her own cleaning service working until the age of 79. She had a variety of interests including country music and in her later years enjoyed listening to Jessie Walker, a local artist, but she treasured most the time spent with her family. Eleanor was a lifelong member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church. Eleanor is survived by a son, Robert Hacker of Oregon; a daughter, Evelyn Ulrich, of Middleton; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 40 years, Herman Hacker, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Eunice Hacker; and two sisters, Verna Hacker and Edna Turk. Funeral services will be held at ST LUKES LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, with the Rev. Heather Lampert presiding. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery in the town of Springfield. Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton and also on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
