Marcia Baltes

Baltes, Marcia J. (Clauer) MIDDLETON Marcia J. Baltes, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at her home. She was born on March 12, 1943, in Dodgeville the daughter of Earl and Jeanette (Williams) Clauer. She graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1961 and attended Beauty College in Madison. Marcia married Dave Baltes on May 22, 1965, at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Middleton. Her family was her first love. Marcia was one of the first waitresses at Alt-N-Bachs of Madison. She also worked at Sweenys Oakcrest Tavern. As a beautician, she worked at numerous salons in Madison and Middleton. Marcia always had an open heart and open arms for anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cards, cribbage, games and fishing. She also enjoyed the many trips with her husband through the years. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She enjoyed being her children and grandchildrens biggest fan at whatever they were involved in. In 1987 Marcia and Dave received the Middleton Good Neighbor Award. Marcia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Marcia is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Baltes; children, Melissa (Jim) Spradlin of Willow, Alaska, Pete (Michelle) Baltes of Middleton and Amy (Brad) Judd of Belleville; grandchildren, Taylor, Sarah, Alexis, Alana Judd, Carly, and Jack Baltes; her brother, Ray (Virginia) Clauer, sister, Mary (Frank) Quartuccio; her mother-in-law, Josephine Baltes; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edwin M. (Lynn) Baltes, Robert (MaryBeth) Baltes, Julie (Rick) Wambach, Diane (Bob) Volk, Patty Grosse, Jackie Baltes; many special nieces; nephews; and many very close friends whose lives she touched deeply. Marcia was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette (Carson) Jinkins; father, Earl Clauer; father-in-law, Edwin T. Baltes; brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Baltes; and Janet Baltes. Memorial services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Avenue, Middleton, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts of Blackhawk Council.
