Bennett, James Wm. MADISON - James Wm. Bennett, age 83, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008. He was born on Feb. 3, 1925, in Gowen, Ok., the son of Arthur and Lola (Walls) Bennett. James served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to Margaret J. Gray, she preceded him in death in 1995. He married Ruby Osmundsen Hale. James worked as a mechanic for the City of Madison, for 34 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was very involved with Keenagers at church. James is survived by his wife, Ruby Hale Bennett; his children, Terry Lee Bennett, Sandra Lee Marr, James A. Bennett, Rickey E. Bennett, John Bennett, Tim Bennett, Cynthia Bahr, Thomas Bennett, Melody Deane and Rebecca Gray-Jurek; and daughter-in-law, Betty Bennett; step-children, Randy Hale, Steven Hale, David Hale, Jeffery Hale, Ricky Hale, Michael Hale, Mark Hale and Debra Nelson; 29 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; a son, Dan; three grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joan Bennett; a brother, Clifford Lee Bennett; and a sister, Joye Lovedy Jackson. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or HospiceCare Inc.
