Betty Roeske

Roeske, Betty Jean MADISON - Betty Jean Roeske, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Jan. 22, 1930, in Madison, to George J. and Olive (Hughes) Behrnd. Betty married Irvin H. Roeske on Dec. 31, 1952. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church. Betty worked for Wm. S. Middleton Veterans Hospital before she started her 24 year career with St. Marys Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, cooking, and always had a fresh pot of coffee ready for those who would "drop in". Betty had a heart of gold and always wore a smile on her face. She is survived by a son, Butch (Jeannine) Roeske of Madison; his daughters, Sara and Amanda Roeske; step-daughter, Natasha Hill; a daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Ramquist of Downing, Wis; her children, Geoffrey, Amber and Eric Hansen, Stephen, Evan and Elizabeth Robeson and Ajay Ramquist; great-grandchildren, Austin, Gavin, Alex, Edan and Courtney; brother, Richard (Joan) Behrnd; sister, Bonnie Higgins; sister-in-law, LaVerne Alme; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, with the Rev. Mary Pharmer presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home, on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
