Elaine Mohr

Mohr, Elaine J. MONONA Elaine June Mohr, age 82, passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at home, at Legacy Gardens Assisted Living. She was born on June 19, 1926, in Kenosha, the daughter of Alfred and Clara (Bliefnick) Pischke. Elaine married Christian John Mohr on Aug. 10, 1945, in Kenosha. They then moved to Madison where Chris attended and graduated from law school. In addition to a law practice, Chris was a Madison alderman and Dane County supervisor, prior to his untimely death at age 31. A single parent, Elaine worked for more than 40 years as a dental assistant for Clarence Bergmann DDS, and then Ronald M. Wanek DDS. She retired in 1989 to care for her parents. Elaine is survived by a daughter, Renee (Jonathan) Burk M.D.; a grandson, Christian Robert Burk; a sister, Jean Schaefer; nieces, Robin (John) Hurly and Michelle Beauleau, all of Florida; and many cousins in south central Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gordon Pischke, killed in Iwo Jima; and husband, Christian John Mohr. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Timothy Hansen presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha on Wednesday at 12 p.m. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare or Legacy Gardens Resident Fund. A special thank you to all of the staff and volunteers at HospiceCare, and all the dedicated staff at Legacy Gardens who made Elaines last days full of caring and love.
