Ruth Leske

Leske, Ruth A. MONONA Ruth A. Leske, age 88, of Monona, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. She was born on Feb. 2, 1920, in Polk County, the daughter of Herbert and Rose (Olson) Niederer. Ruth was united in marriage to Howard J. Leske on April 26, 1943. She was a waitress for many years, retiring from the Wonder Bar. Following her retirement, she was a caregiver, helping other senior citizens. Ruth is survived by her three sisters, Evelyn Taylor of Monona, Dorothy Scott of Baldwin, and Pearl Schichel of St. Paul, Minn.; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Teri Schichel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in June 1970; her parents; two brothers, Harry and Willard; a sister, Betty; and an infant sister, Mildred. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, with the Rev. Brad Homan presiding. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
