Obituary

Johnson, Marjorie Mae MADISON Marjorie Mae Johnson, age 77, left this world but not our hearts and memories on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, peacefully at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born on June 27, 1931, the daughter of Willis and Erna (McDonald) Brockert. On March 7, 1953, she married Kenneth Truman Johnson at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Madison. Together they had four loving children. Marjorie worked for the State of Wisconsin for more than 30 years. Her true passion in life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and spending time with her family, including her two sisters. Marjorie taught us to love whole-heartedly, unconditionally and selflessly. She had many trying times in her life that she overcame with dignity and faith. Marjorie was the rock of the entire family. She always had an open ear to listen. Marjorie is survived by her children, Karen (Mike) Geier of Sun Prairie, Tom (Beth) Johnson of Madison, Bill (Kathy) Johnson of Madison and Betsy (Gary) Yunker of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Jessica ONeill, Jacob Johnson, Kristina McGuire, Lucas Johnson, Sara Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Clinton Geier, Candace Yunker and Nick Yunker; and three wonderful great-grandchildren, Angela, Waverly and Ilyana, that she loved and enjoyed so much. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gloria Vike and Darlene Bradley; husband, Kenneth Truman; and her stepmother, Madeline Brockert. Funeral services will be held at OUR SAVIOURS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1201 Droster Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, with the Rev. Brad Homan presiding. Burial will follow in Blooming Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center for all their loving care. God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, "come with me." You didnt deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest. Gods garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. And when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain, I could not wish you back to suffer that again.
