Obituary
Lewandoski, Jean E. MADISON Jean Elinor Lewandoski, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Oakwood West Retirement Community in Madison. She was born Jean Elinor Aplin on Jan. 13, 1919, in Palmyra. She married Emanuel Charles (Nick) Roamer in 1939. While he tended to his business in Milwaukee, she raised three children in our familys very own special paradise in Mercer, a resort known to friends and family as "Roamers Roost". She was recognized as an exceptional community leader as well as a notorious prankster. Mr. Roamer died in 1972. In 1978, Jean married Sy Lewandoski and together they enjoyed many wonderful years of love and travel. He preceded her in death in 2000. Though she suffered form Alzheimers disease in her later years, family, friends, doctors, and the caring staff at Oakwood West thoroughly enjoyed her ongoing wit and humor. We will dearly miss her. We are all at peace with her peace. She is survived by a sister, Doris; brother, Kenneth; children, Charles (Mary Lou) Roamer, Jean (Vernon Flesch) Roamer and Ruth (Glen) Leverson. She was "Nonnie" to 12 grandchildren and "Nonnie the Great" to 24 great-grandchildren. A private celebration of her life will be held at GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be at the cemetery in Mercer, in the spring of 2009.
