Wallace Buntin

Buntin, Wallace Gene MADISON Wallace Gene Buntin, age 73, died on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008. He was born on Dec. 5, 1934, in Ziegler, Ill., to George and Lena (Rose) Buntin. Wallie served in the U.S. Army. He married Shirley Jerpseth on Aug. 24, 1958. To this union, two children were born, David and Julie. Wally and Shirley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year with a trip to Alaska. Wallie was currently employed by National Speciality Insurance (NSI), and previously with Capital Indemnity Insurance and General Casualty Insurance. He was a long time and very active member of Door Creek Church. Wallie enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing cards and being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing games and visiting while volunteering at Sylvan Crossings, where his mother resides. Wallie is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, David Buntin; daughter, Julie (Randy) Slinde; grandchildren, Jake and Brooke Slinde; his mother, Lena Pistono; brother, Robert Carnahan; sister-in-law, Carol Newman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, with the Rev. Cal Steiner presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to either Our Savior Deaf Lutheran Church, 3110 Dairy Drive, Madison, WI 53718 or Door Creek Church. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness during Wallies illness, especially the staff at 4 East at St. Marys Hospital for the wonderful care that was given to Wallie during his recent hospitalization.
