Obituary

Lautzenhiser, Isabelle MADISON/ MCFARLAND Isabelle Lautzenhiser, age 83, of McFarland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at HospiceCare Center. She was born on Nov. 9, 1924, to Russell and Emily (Buelow) Slauson on a small farm in Spring Green. Isabelle graduated from Spring Green High School and then moved to Madison and worked for the Madison Kipp Company, Rayovac, and the Hoffman House Sauce Company. After her first child was born, she became a full time stay at home mom. Later Isabelle worked for Marquette Elementary School. She was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church. Isabelle married Willis J. Lautzenhiser on Feb. 9, 1946. Isabelle enjoyed many hobbies and simple pleasures including bowling, dancing, flower gardening (especially African violets), bingo, cards, "antiquing" and the pleasure of good friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Isabelle is survived by her four children, James Lautzenhiser, Donald (Kate) Lautzenhiser, Cathy (Tom) Janquart and Donna (Mike) Leckwee; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; sisters, Lucile Boeker, Edie Odel and Dorothy Blado; brothers, Theodore and Ronald; and numerous nieces and nephews. Isabelle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Willis J. Lautzenhiser; her parents, Russell and Emily Slauson; and three brothers, Gordon, Orrin and Leon Slauson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Zwettler presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Special thanks to all the caring staff at HospiceCare Center for their devotion to family and patient care. May our mothers life be honored by all whom she loved. May her memory be cherished for all she gave. May your heart be comforted by all you shared. May you be enriched for the privilege of having known her.
