Obituary

Christianson, Marion L. MADISON Marion L. Christianson, passed on peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008. She was born on April 10, 1918, in Rio, the daughter of Harry and Elsie Nichols. Marion lived in Rio and Lodi where her parents ran a poultry farm, and later moved to Parson, Kan. She soon moved back to Madison where her parents were house parents at a UW Sorority. Marion graduated from East High School in 1936. She married the love of her life Anfin (Andy) Christianson in 1938 in Deerfield. After working at Noras Store a few years they purchased a grocery store in Rockdale, ran a hardware store and then a heating and air conditioning business. They moved to Madison in 1964 and Marion worked at Mendota State Hospital and Central Wisconsin Center as a administrative assistant until she retired in 1978. Marion was a longtime member of the Elk East Side Club. Her loves included her husband, family and many friends, traveling, golfing, playing cards, readi ng, and she was a beautiful knitter. Marion is survived by her children, Jo (George) Langley of Eagle River and Roger Christianson of Madison; three granddaughters, Trista (Tod Tyler) Langley-Tyler of Eagle River, Tonya (Tim) Allison of Suffolk, Va., and Tara Langley of Eagle River; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Rose, Michael, Grace, Syrus, and Drew; These children were her pride and joy. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Lila (Roland) Eide of Deerfield and Millie Nichols of San Francisco; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; and brother, Raymond Nichols. Funeral service will be held at LAKEVIEW LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4001 Mandrake Road, Madison, on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Mach officiating. Private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
