Catherine Knickmeier

Knickmeier, Catherine M. (Kocovsky) JOHNSON CREEK/ MADISON Catherine M. "Cathy" (Kocovsky) Knickmeier, age 65, of Johnson Creek, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Meriter Hospital after complications from a brief illness. She was born on Feb. 24, 1943, in Madison, the daughter of Frank Kocovsky and Nora (Pishion) Kocovsky Heggestad. Cathy graduated from Oregon High School in 1961. She married Edward Knickmeier in 1967. Cathy worked for the State of Wisconsin Safety and Buildings Department from the time she graduated high school until she retired at age 57. After retirement she worked for the Department of Revenue during tax season. Cathy was a dedicated worker and an incredibly giving person. She loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Cathy is survived by her siblings, Ann (Delane) Stenjem of Cottage Grove, Robert (Gloria) Kocovsky and Dorothy (Donald) White, all of Oregon; nieces and nephews, Sharron (Thomas) Daly of Menomonee Falls, Duane (Mary) Stenjem of Deerfield, Edward (Jennifer) Stenjem of Marshall, Christopher (Jill) Kocovsky of Waupaca, Melissa and Michelle Kocovsky of Fitchburg, and Susan (Dennis) Carney of Deerfield; great-nieces and nephews, Matthew Danzinger, Aaron and Kirsten Daly, Ryan and Joshua Kocovsky, and Kayla Carney; former husband, Edward; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Kocovsky, in 1951; mother, Nora Heggestad, in 2001; and step-father, Percy Heggestad in 1978. Her family was so blessed to be part of her amazing life. She leaves in them a legacy of kindness and compassion. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Oregon. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
