Dorothy Mandeville

Mandeville, Dorothy M. OREGON Dorothy M. Mandeville, age 87, of Oregon passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. She was born on March 24, 1921, in Byron, Ill., the daughter of Earl and Marie (Burd) Hetrick. Dorothy married Richard Mandeville on Feb. 2, 1943. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church - Oregon and the Northside 500 Club. Dorothy worked in the payroll section at the Department of Transportation. She treasured her family and friends. Dorothy enjoyed all kinds of crafts, her favorites included crocheting, knitting and sewing. She made drapes for all of her families homes and crocheted many gifts. Dorothy liked cooking, canning, reading, flower gardens and playing cards. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Jack) Mitchell of Brooklyn; daughter-in-law, Donna Mandeville of Madison; three grandchildren, Valerie (Raymond) Beebe of Fort Mills, S.C., Chris (Amie) Mitchell of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Michelle Mitchell (Dean Sweberg) of Seattle, Wash.; and four great-grandchildren, Ray Beebe, Rob Beebe, Micah Mitchell and Owen Mitchell. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2001; a son, Robert in 2001; and sisters, Irene Towsley and Margorie Kjellstrom. A Memorial service will be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 172 N. Main Street, at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, with the Rev. Clara Thompson presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., First Presbyterian Church or the Oregon Senior Center.
