Gloria Borter

Borter, Gloria J. DEERFIELD Gloria J. Borter, age 63, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 28, 1945, the daughter of Delbert and Colleen Unbehaun in Dodgeville. Gloria graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1963. She worked for the State of Wisconsin, Bloomfield Manor and Madison Public Library System. Gloria was married to Erwin Borter in April 1968, and together they farmed in Deerfield. In April 2008, Gloria and Erwin celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. She loved her family, Jehovah, gardening and her many "grandcats." She was one of Jehovahs Witnesses and went to Madison North Congregation. She is survived by her husband, Erwin Borter of Deerfield; three children, Lisa (John) Melms of Madison, Heidi Borter of Madison and Daniel Borter of Deerfield; her mother, Colleen Unbehaun of Dodgeville; two brothers, Greg (Elaine) Unbehaun of Madison and Gerald (Linda) Unbehaun of Dodgeville; many nieces, nephews and other relatives cousins, brother and sister-in-law. Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Unbehaun. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the friends at Monona and Madison North Congregations for their loving support and also to HospiceCare for their support, in particular, Nikki, April and Sara.
