Arlene Kalrath

Kalrath, Arlene A. MADISON Arlene A. Kalrath, age 77, of Madison, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Hospice of Fitchburg. She was born on March 31, 1931, in Spring Green, the daughter of William and Catherine (Gruber) Bindl. Arlene was raised on the family farm in Spring Green. She then moved to Madison and married Robert J. Kalrath on April 7, 1956, at St. James Catholic Church in Madison. Arlene was a longtime employee for Dean Health Systems for more than 25 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Arlene was a fabulous cook and looked forward to many family gatherings. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting afghans, traveling and in her later years, she became a beautiful artist. Arlene is survived by her husband, Robert; children, James Kalrath of Madison, Jean (Mark) Seeley of Madison, and Judy (Kerry) Woodbury of Middleton; three grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew and Amber; and a sister, Dorothy (Keith) Frederickson of Monona. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Harold and Eugene Bindl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, at noon on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, with Monsignor Thomas Baxter presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Marys Care Center, and a heartfelt thanks to Dr. William Rock and the entire staff at Hospice, for their great care and compassion given to Arlene. A mothers happiness is like a beacon, lighting up the future but reflected also on the past in the glow of fond memories.
