Elwin Luther

Luther, Elwin "Al" MADISON Elwin "Al" Luther, age 50, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital, after a long battle with diabetes, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on April 22, 1958, in Baraboo, the son of Herman and Byrdine Luther. He married Carol Veith on Aug. 20, 1977, in Madison. Al was a meat cutter for Lons Country Store for many years. He was the ultimate Green Bay Packers fan. His greatest joy in life was being a grandpa to Donovan. Al always had the garage door open for his friends who wanted to sit and visit. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Michelle; grandson, Donovan; brother, David of Reedsburg; mother-in-law, Betty Veith; brothers-in-law, J.R. (Kim) Veith, Jim (Pat) Veith and Joe Veith; sister-in-law, Cathy (Don) Frank of Sun Prairie; best friend, Bill Theel; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Al was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ray Veith; and brother-in-law, Buddy Veith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at 10 a.m., with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. We will love and miss you always but we know you now have a great seat for the game.
