Ackerman, Harold R. "Bud" Jr. SUN PRAIRIE Harold R. "Bud" Ackerman Jr., age 78, of Sun Prairie, was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Bud was born on July 17, 1930, in Fremont, Neb., to Harold R. Ackerman Sr. and Tena Mikan. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict era. He worked as a carpenter and craftsman, and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 314. Bud also had many dear friends at Eastside Alano. He is survived by two sons, Dale Ackerman of Jacksonville, Fla., and Barry (Susan) Ackerman of Rochester, N.Y.; a daughter, Gwen Hall of Elk Point, S.D.; his first wife, Mary Jane Cypher of Madison; two grandchildren, Kyle and Aaron Ackerman; a brother, Jimmy Ackerman of Sacramento, Calif.; many dear friends, including his loving caregiver, Marita (Al) Zblewski and family; including Buds little "bumblebee," Shania. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Barbara; and a sister, Sylvia Ackerman. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, with the Rev. Brad Homan presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted.
