Jessie Kennedy

Kennedy, Jessie M. MADISON Jessie Marie Kennedy, age 104, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. She was born on April 17, 1904, in Clear Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Lenora (Jones) Skellenger. Jessie married Clarence Kennedy on May 24, 1922, in Mason City, Iowa. She worked at Fanny Farmer, Rayovac, CUNA, and Hills Store for more than 20 years. Jessie was a member of Community Christian Church in Madison and Monona Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an avid gardener. Jessie also enjoyed eating at Dairyland Restaurant with her son, where they loved spending time with friends. She is survived by a son, Phillip (Sylvia) Kennedy of Stoughton; stepdaughter, Gretchen Munger of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three grandchildren, Gary Kennedy, David Kennedy, and Barb (Tom) Bollig; two great-grandchildren, Shelby Bollig and Tim Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1970; her parents; a son, Gene Kennedy; and four sisters, Lottie Fisher, Ethel Stiff, Lenora Hegley, and Alma Stofen. Funeral services will be held at COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 5020 Maher Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 21, 2008, with the Rev. Bob Lawrence presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
