Obituary
Neitzel, Elaine Hattie MADISON Elaine Hattie Neitzel, age 87, went home to be with her Lord and beloved husband, Carl, on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, after a brief stay at the HospiceCare Center. Elaine was born on Nov. 30, 1920, in Sullivan, the daughter of Theodore and Emma (Rehbaum) Gamm. She spent her growing up years in Watertown and moved to Madison in 1937. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Carl Herman Neitzel on Dec. 28, 1941. She worked for many years in various office positions and then assisted her husband in his upholstery business. Elaine was a devoted member of Monona Lutheran Church, and until last year, a very active volunteer at the Bethesda House of Thrift. Elaine loved crochet and needlework and her wonderful handiwork will be cherished by family and friends for many years to come. In earlier years, she was also a very avid bowler and golfer, activities she so enjoyed with her husband and friends. She and her husband were also enthusiastic antique collectors. She also enjoyed card playing and in recent years, bingo. Elaine was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Dennis) Klipp of Rome, Maine; and two grandsons, Christopher (Helisha) Klipp of Mesquite, Texas and Eric Klipp of North Attleboro, Mass. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl; her parents, Theodore and Emma; two brothers, Roy and Wenzel; and great-grandson, Andrew. A funeral service will be held at MONONA EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4411 Monona Drive, Monona, on Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation for family and friends prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at the church. An interment service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Monona Lutheran Church Building Fund or HospiceCare, Inc.
