Obituary
Hanevold, Shirley Elizabeth MADISON Shirley Elizabeth Hanevold, age 85, of Madison, went to join our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. She was born to August and Mabel (Schultz) Grunert, on July 26, 1922, on the East side of Madison, where she remained her whole life. Shirley married Walter O. Hanevold on Sept. 1, 1962, in Madison. She worked for the Rayovac Corp. for more than 43 years. Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to talk politics and had very strong opinions. Shirley loved playing cards, shopping, and traveling with her husband, Wally. She will always be known for her baked goods, which were passed on to her by her grandmother, and then passed down to her granddaughters. All will miss Shirleys dill dip. Shirley is survived by her five children, daughter, Joyce (Jon) Valdez and granddaughters, Johanna and Jessie, her boys, John, Craig, and David (Betty) Hanevold, and daughter, Sherry (Dan) Moeller; 12 grandchildren, John E., Tiffani, Deb, April, Natalie, Faye, Shelly, Daniel, Sommer, Kari, Traci and Ami; 17 great-grandchildren, David, Alysha, Payton, Oceanana, Morgan, Jackson, Curtis Jr., Sydni, Serena, Nyla, Collin, Alaina, Kennedy, Kayla, Autumn, Tyler and Kelsi; a sister, Violet Myers of Madison; brother, Richard (Kay) Grunert of Pennsylvania; and also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; her parents; a sister; and a brother. Funeral services will be held at ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2165 Linden Ave., Madison, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008, with the Rev. Pat Siegler presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008, and at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
