Laura Shimniok

Shimniok, Laura E. WAUNAKEE Laura E. Shimniok, age 94, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008. She was born on May 7, 1914, in Sauk County, Honey Creek Township. Laura was united in marriage to William Shimniok on Jan. 1, 1932, in Rockford, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1997. She farmed along with her husband and was known throughout the area for selling fresh farm eggs to neighbors and friends. Laura enjoyed tending her garden and loved cooking for her family. She was blessed by two sons, Lawrence Shimniok and Merlin (Pat) Shimniok; eight grandchildren, Sandra (Joe) Rowin, Cindy (Robert) Raasch, Lawrence Shimniok, Jr., Lori (Terry) Shaw, Tammy (Chris) Gallwitz, Ronda (Mike) Kojo, John (Janet) Shimniok and Cheryl (Wayne) Utke; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband William, she was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at ST. LUKES LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, with the Reverend Heather Lampert presiding. Burial will be in St. Lukes Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
