Stacey Sweeney

Sweeney, Stacey M. MADISON Stacey M. Sweeney, age 26, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008, unexpectedly due to a congenital heart problem. She was born on Dec. 21, 1981, in Madison, the daughter of James Sr. and Mary Sweeney. Stacey graduated from LaFollette High School in 2000. She received her teacher assistant certificate and worked for the YMCA at Schenk Elementary School. She loved working with children. She was an avid pet lover and rescued animals from shelters. Stacey had a very kind heart and a great love for family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her dogs and cats. Stacey was a very strong woman who overcame many obstacles in life. Stacey is survived by her mother, Mary; brothers, James Jr. (Erika), Craig (Jamie), and Jason (Anh); nieces and nephews, Kameron, Kailie, Kieran, Taylor, Madison, Gavin, Ariana, Ian, and Alea; very special family members, Rose, Donna, Pat, Jill, Jeff, and Karen. She was preceded in death by her father, James Sr.; and grandparents, Mary and Russell Hasheck, and Don and Helen Sweeney. Funeral services will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, on Friday, June 20, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Thursday, June 19, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to Messiah Lutheran Church. A very special thanks to a dear friend, Teresa Palumbo. I have one more angel in my collection.
