Alice Murray

Murray, Alice MADISON Alice Murray, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was born on Valentines Day, Feb. 14, 1924. There was not a more appropriate day for such a loving person to enter this world. Alices husband, Jim, passed away on April 11, 1960, leaving Alice with 13 children to raise on her own. Through faith, love, strength, and perseverance, she raised their children on her own. Alice enjoyed a long leisurely retirement and traveled extensively with her family throughout the U.S. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and was reflected in her gift giving, decorating, and visiting with her family and friends. She was an inspiration to all of her family. Alice enjoyed card club for many years and really appreciated the friendships. Alice left a legacy of family including her children, Mary Ann (Ted) Sainsbury, Pat (Bill) Pierce, Dave (Patty) Murray, Joeanne Murray, Tom (Carol) Murray, Marge (Randy) Weichel, Bill (Mary) Murray, Mike Murray, Nancy (Skip) Poster, Tim (Cathy) Murray, John (Kathy) Murray, and Alan (Linda) Murray; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jim; and great-grandson, Christopher. The family would like to thank Care Wisconsin and HospiceCare for their caring and kindness during this difficult time, and a special thank you to Kathy. Funeral services will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Sister Georgeann Roudebush officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
